Scope:
Residential solution sized to provide maximum self-sufficiency to this client who previously consumed 72 kWhr (units) of municipal electricity per day.  This system will now generate 75% of client’s electricity requirements, freeing the property from high municipal bills.
The system was designed to accommodate the 3-phase municipal supply with a common lithium-ion battery system, thus allowing the client to have backup of loads across all 3 phases for well over 12 hours at night.
System architecture based on top tier Victron equipment and remote monitoring, allowing the client to monitor system performance from the mobile app in real-time and to obtain historical logs.

We recently concluded an awesome project that the ZPE team worked on for a client in Westdene, Gauteng, South Africa. The system was designed with some novel tech, and successfully commissioned in December 2020.

  • Included 22x top of the range 460W monocrystalline solar panels to maximise 10kWp solar capacity within the smallest viable roof footprint
  • Made use of a top of the range 3-phase 10kW hybrid inverter system
  • Coupled with a high voltage 400V DC 17.5kWhr lithium-ion battery system
  • Secondary petrol generator back-up system to ensure 100% uptime for our client’s extremely critical loads on-site

We can’t be happier with the result, with our client sharing these sentiments heading into the holiday period and now enjoying being over 80% off-grid, and free from the worry of load shedding! We are currently in the process of finalising City Power grid feed-in of excess solar power for further savings.

The ZPE team recently concluded a 12.5kW grid-tie roof-top solar PV installation for a client in Houghton Estate, JHB. The system will generate up to 60 kWhrs/units of electricity per day using top tier solar panels that have 25 year performance warranties.

The system consists of a dual-phase inverter system with remote monitoring capability, and designed to maximise solar PV consumption during daytime when electricity consumption is high at this premises. Any excess solar is planned to feed back into the City Power utility grid.
