Zero Point Energy is a proudly South African & Level 1 BBBEE sustainability-focused engineering company founded in 2015. We provide bespoke designs, consulting engineering & turn-key EPC solutions in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy storage, off-grid and backup power. Our focus is in the Southern African commercial, industrial, public, agricultural and residential sectors. Our vision is to be a leader in the provision of net-zero sustainability engineering solutions across Africa, with a mission to make sustainability simpler and cheaper for our clients, and to empower their journey towards net-zero energy consumption and environmental impact.
We are a rapidly growing QSE company with a proven project track record, accreditations and successes, comprising of an experienced yet still small & effective team. To date we are punching well above our weight on our way to making our vision a success. However, given our growth trajectory and confirmed pipeline of projects, we are looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager to join us on this exciting journey in 2022 and beyond, to contribute and add value to both the company and their own career development in the niche and massively expanding sustainability-focused engineering space that we operate in.
Sales & Marketing Manager Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the sales & marketing efforts at Zero Point Energy to grow and sustain the throughput of existing and new customers as well as the company’s brand within the industry, amongst B2B and B2C clients
- Responsible to manage the lead acquisition, handling and conversion cycle via existing channels i.e. internet form, emails, office landline calls, Whatsapp business calls & text messages
- Manage and enhance company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system as well as to track and follow up with leads on CRM database
- Manage and enhance the company’s marketing efforts and marketing resources including company profiles, apparel, advertising, digital & physical marketing material, etc
- Align with other workstreams in the company to ensure seamless transition and hand-over from lead conversion to confirmed projects
- Generate unique sales plans, create engaging social media campaigns, email newsletters, and promotional literature in line with company strategy and offerings
- Responsible to drive sales strategies to increase company offerings & awareness by continuously observing the market, competitors, and industry trends, and suggesting enhancements to company strategy and planning
- Responsible to gather, investigate, and summarize market data and trends into reports when required
- Maintain relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating new marketing opportunities
- Staying current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks
Role Specific Candidate Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, mathematics, business administration, or related field is mandatory
- Must have minimum 3-5 years of prior sales and marketing experience and knowledge in sales & marketing for service oriented businesses
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as great oral and written digital communications skills (email, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Whatsapp, MS Teams, etc)
- Must have high EQ (emotional intelligence) to manage potential leads, new clients, internal teams and sub-contractors
- Must show proven and strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills
- Be able to understand client needs & requirements and communicate these to technical proposals team effectively, and subsequently be able to translate technical proposals from design team back into easily understandable proposals and quotes to clients
- Previous sales & marketing experience in technical/engineering business or business management will be advantageous
- Understanding and experience in renewable energy projects will be advantageous
- Reports to Managing Director / General Manager in the corporate structure
General Candidate Requirements:
- Candidate will be based at Company head office located at 50 Richmond Avenue, Auckland Park, Johannesburg
- Must be able to work well independently as well as within company teams to execute projects successfully
- Must be driven to perform, willing to take on responsibility and able to make decisions independently
- Able to participate in structured and un-structured learning & training
- Pro-actively expand knowledge-base in areas related to Zero Point Energy
- Be involved in company initiatives to optimise company processes & systems and provide input when required
- Contribute and develop systems & processes in areas of experience and increase knowledge-base of the company
- Willing to learn and be able to pick up new skills and knowledge of industry quickly and effectively
- Able to provide contactable references for prior experience checks
- Remuneration package will be based on a base salary + lucrative project profit-share basis linked to performance on projects
- Initially, 12-month contract with option to extend (performance dependent) with initial 3-month’s being a probation period
