Zero Point Energy’s 2024 Year in Review – A Journey of Solar Innovation and Success
As the year draws to a close, Zero Point Energy celebrates a remarkable 2024 filled with milestones in the renewable energy landscape. From transformative projects to thought leadership events, we’ve worked to make renewable energy solutions accessible and impactful for businesses across South Africa.
2024 Project Highlights: Delivering Reliable Power Across Sectors
Our portfolio of completed projects this year showcases the potential of renewable energy solutions for a wide range of industries, each with unique energy requirements. Here are some standout projects:
– Mpumalanga Filling Station Project
One of the year’s highlights was a renewable energy system for a filling station in Mpumalanga. With 150 kW of inverter capacity, 180 kWh of battery storage, and 82 kWp solar capacity, the system has generated R150,000 in savings over seven months. This installation demonstrates how solar solutions can empower high-energy businesses to reduce costs sustainably. Read the case study here.
– 1.4 MW Grid-Tie Project Underway
Progress continues at a flour milling operation in Johannesburg, with 726 kWp completed to date. Other roof sections are undergoing waterproofing and preparations, alongside cable tray and walkway installations.. This flagship project highlights Zero Point Energy’s ability to deliver energy-independent solutions for large-scale industrial operations.
– Shopping Centre in Pretoria
For a shopping mall in Pretoria, we deployed a 500 kWp grid-tie solar system with 400 kW of inverter capacity, alongside a 200 kW diesel generator. By powering the mall’s operational needs during sunlight hours, the system cuts monthly costs by R120,000, underscoring the significant impact of solar in the retail sector. View this project here.
– Zero Point Energy’s November Event – Driving Industry Conversations
In November, we hosted an exclusive business seminar, “Future-Proofing Buildings: Sustainable Energy Technology and Funding Solutions,” in Johannesburg. Industry leaders joined us to discuss sustainable innovations and financing options for commercial and industrial buildings. With topics such as carbon credits, battery storage, and Energy Performance Certificates, attendees gained valuable insights into the latest renewable energy strategies.
As South Africa’s energy challenges evolve, Zero Point Energy remains committed to providing cutting-edge solutions that empower businesses to thrive sustainably. From government incentives to advancements in battery storage, 2024 has been a year of momentum for solar energy adoption—and we’re excited to build on these successes in 2025.
