Commercial 100kW Solar PV + 120kWhr battery storage + 72kW hybrid inverter - South Coast, KZN
Project Scope:
Project was executed by Zero Point Energy on a turn-key EPC basis for this commercial Shell fuel retailer site in Paddock, KZN. System included:
- 98kWp of Tier 1 mono solar PV panels (25 year performance guarantee)
- 6x 12kW Sunsynk 3-phase hybrid inverters in 3 phase configuration (5 year warranty)
- 3x 40kWhr Freedom Won lithium-ion batteries in centralised DC busbuar system
- All DC, AC, electrical, structural and mechanical engineering & installation
- Remote monitoring of system via energy meters & wifi-enabled monitoring platform

Client Benefits:
Over 400 kWhr or 40% of the site’s daily electricity consumption will now be generated daily by the 98kW solar PV system.
With 72kW of hybrid inverter capacity and 120 kWhr of lithium-ion battery storage, the site has been designed to smartly store excess solar energy for night usage, execute peak demand shaving, provide backup power during load shedding and integrate with the existing diesel generator on site in future.
The fuel retail site will now have enhanced self-reliance, reduced operational electricity bills and contribute towards reducing its carbon footprint.
